Voting YES on Measure C is an investment in our local community.  This education bond is structured so the tax rate property owners pay for Shasta College bonds will not increase; instead, it will extend the period over which payments are made while providing needed funding.

By law, bond funds must be spent on local Shasta

College facilities and cannot be taken by the State for other purposes.

Measure C will have an independent Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee; annual financial and performance audits; and public reporting of expenditures to ensure transparency.

A minimum 50% match is required from Shasta College to secure state funding to support identified projects. With your YES vote on Measure C, capturing these state funds to make your local investment grow is made possible.

Shasta College has supplemented the original Measure H Bond amount through actively pursuing additional funding to help pay for projects, including over $28 million from the state, to achieve a 27.3% return on local investment.

Protecting Every Taxpayer Dollar

Shasta College has demonstrated a commitment to taxpayers through responsible financial management.

By refinancing prior bonds to a lower interest rate, the College saved taxpayers approximately $4.25

million in interest costs.
